The pictures were so good and I must admit quite intimidating. Follow Joe on Instagram. But If you are just a photographer with a little point and shoot camera and you want to learn how to take professional pics, you will be totally overwhelmed. So I thought I was getting diagrams and lists of equipment used and way I could tbe to re-create the techniques he used.
Joe McNally is one of the greats in our field and in this book he shares some terrific images along with detailed explanations on how he got the shot. Must feel great to look back on time, as you mention above, and have tangible evidence of your own hopes, dreams, good intentions. Joe McNally is truly a legend.
He constantly provides his expertise to participants in workshops and viewers of photo tutorials. It just keeps you coming for more.

I got this for Christmas from my husband mcnally read the entire thing that day. My dream is to go on one of the DLWS — I will have to make sure you are on the one I attend …someday that is saving money.

Keep up the good work! If you do nothing else as a photographer, take the time to get to know his work and take one of his workshops. No serious attempt to capture images is accidental in McNally’s world. I particularly like the lighter, story telling, writing style.

I have flipped through this book over and over, studying the technical aspects and soaking up the inspiration.
