LaDads promotes Shared Parenting in Louisiana. Shared Parenting is when both parents continue to have equal access and rearing responsibilities for their children after a divorce.
LaDads promotes fair Child Support laws in Louisiana. Current Louisiana child support laws allow orders that can exceed 100% of a persons income. We first got involved in child support in 2001 when we found out that a legislature was trying to remove the self support reserve (SSR) out of the child support tables. The SSR is supposed to ensure that the paying parent has sufficient money to live on at poverty level ($551/month gross income).
