Posted to the Civil Law and Procedure Committee Agenda for May 20th is SB 492 authored by Senator Julie Quinn.

I encourage everyone to read the bill. On the surface it has the potential to do what we need concerning the interference of parenting time. The language of the bill also mandates that the non-custodial parent spend their time with the child. The bill directs identical penalties for NOT exercising parenting time as for INTERFERENCE with parenting time.

My initial reading brings forth one concern- the language of "good cause" or "beyond their control" is a bit vague for my liking.

I do like the fact that the language of the bill states "interference" - not "denial" of parenting time.

So, gentlemen - let's read up and get involved.

Dale
